Orléans, Ottawa, not the other Orleans
Orléans sits east of the Greenbelt, between the Ottawa River and Highway 417. People searching the web sometimes land on New Orleans instead. If you are here, you want the Ottawa community, and that is where we come.
The north end is older: Fallingbrook and Queenswood Heights, above St. Joseph Boulevard, toward Petrie Island. Convent Glen and Chapel Hill run along Jeanne d'Arc Boulevard and Orléans Boulevard. The south end is newer: Avalon and Notre-Dame-des-Champs, between Innes Road and the 417, out to Tenth Line Road and Trim Road.
Place d'Orléans and the Shenkman Arts Centre are on Centrum Boulevard, just off Ottawa Road 174. That 174, and the 417 east of Blair, is how most people drive in. St. Joseph Boulevard is the old main street. Innes Road is the southern way across when the 174 is slow.
We come to driveways, townhouse lots and the parking lots on Centrum, St. Joseph and Innes. If you are on the shoulder of the 174, tell us the exit you are nearest. Blackburn Hamlet and the rest of Gloucester are on the way in from downtown. Vanier is further west on Montreal Road.
